One Year Closer to Christ's Return

What a wonderful 3 days in beautiful San Diego I had. I was attending a church conference. San Diego has almost perfect weather....we were in a hotel right on the water. Each message was challenging....and the fellowship with old friends made for a very special time.

Psalms 133:1 - How good and pleasant it is, for brethren to dwell together in unity.

I shared in September that my long-time friend, Vineta, was celebrating her 91st birthday. I drove to the small town of Pahrump....(an hour before Vegas)....On Christmas Eve we talked on the phone. She told me her heart was hurting and that she wanted to prop herself up in bed.....telling me she felt better....but then passed away three hours later. I wanted to do a memorial service for her....she was well-known in the town. It was a special time to have her bingo buddies show up. I gave an opportunity for those present to reflect on her life....we heard funny stories about her....I was able to sing some of her favorite old songs. I am so glad that God brought her into my life 36 years ago. I shall miss her....but we will spend eternity together.

I know heaven is real....I know that hell is real....because it's in the Bible. So, each day I am trying to ask folk I come in contact with...."do you really know where you will spend eternity?"....I have been getting some very interesting answers. I want them to know there is something more after this life.

Hebrews 9:27 - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

Actually, this should be the winter season, but here we are in the 80's....California seems to know no season....it kinda all runs together. In our lives, we know there will seasons of trial, heartache....but we do have the assurance of God's Word....that "there is a time for everything"....and as I often say "it came to pass." God's Grace is sufficient for everything you are facing. Remember whatever season you are in now....it is trust in Him that will get us through. Even though we will be blessed in 2012....we do not know how many severe storms we will have....but this one thing we can know, is that Jesus will be with us in each of them....and He will say "Peace be still."

I Peter 5:10 - And the God of all Grace, who called you to His eternal Glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
