September/October 2007

In the future, I will be writing a newsletter every two months. It will be easier for me and my schedule. I hope that you enjoy reading about the opportunities that God gives me.

Need I remind you again, it is almost Christmas?  What an exciting year so far.  Each day I'm humbled to see how God uses me in so many different ways and places. I'm asked often, "When are you going to retire?" My answer ....NEVER!

John 9:4
I must work the works of Him who sent me, for when night comes, no man (Lillie) can work.

I love the ministry God has called me to and will continue until He changes it. I trust that you are doing what He has asked you to do. The only place to be is in the Perfect Will of God.

Everyone should go to Yellowstone at least once.  When I received an invitation to come minister in Livingston, MT... I checked the map and discovered it was near that National Park. I asked if I might come in a day early and have someone take me there. When I landed, there were three ladies awaiting me with signs welcoming me.

It was 80 miles to Yellowstone from the airport, beautiful scenery along the way, lots of people fishing in the shallow water, others from bridges. Montana is a most beautiful state; truly Big Sky Country. How exciting to see a bull elk, deer, lots of buffalo and a black bear just roaming. In fact in the town of Mammoth, the elk walk the street like the tourists, sitting on the front lawn of the courthouse, etc.

My time of ministry was one of my favorite things, a hat and tea party. I never tire of seeing women really being ladies for a couple of hours by wearing hats; all kinds, all colors, all styles. My message .... I'm told was a blessing. We also had fun. The morning service at the church was very special. I had asked a southern gospel quartet to sing with me on one of the songs from my new CD. As I understand, they had been singing for years together, but never had given themselves a name. They were excellent singers and I insisted that they have a meeting and name themselves. Just before the service began, the baritone came to me and said, "Miss Lillie, how does 'The Yellowstone Gospel Four' sound?"   I said, "GREAT!" And that is how I introduced them to their church body. There was a wonderful time of praise and worship. After I finished ministering....Pastor Duane spoke words of encouragement to us, perhaps you too need a word of encouragement as you are in a difficult place and need answers to perplexing problems. Dear one, God knows where you are.

Nahum 1:7 - The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.

I always like to mention Christian Women's Connection where I minister in Word and Song on a regular basis. There are hundreds of clubs who meet each week all over the world. Their theme is "Think, Lost." The regular attendees are encouraged to never come alone....to always bring an unsaved friend so that when the Word goes forth from the Speaker, their hearts will be touched. Try to attend one in your area if you can. You will be blessed.

Another of my favorite groups are the Seniors (now that I ARE one). As I look out and often and see as many as 250 seniors ....what I really see is maturity, knowledge, and wisdom. My message to them is to not retire and coast into Heaven, but continue to work for God because IT AIN'T OVER TILL IT'S OVER.

Ecclesiastes 3:20 - For you will not often consider the years of your life....For God keeps you occupied with gladness of heart.

What an opportunity I have to be Speaker/Singer for the Assemblies of God .... Oklahoma District Council Women's Conference. Nearly 2,000 women gathered by Friday Noon to register and attend seminars conducted by awesome speakers. At 5:00 pm, in a smaller room, 250 ladies attended a hat & tea party. When they registered by mail, they were encouraged to bring a hat for the tea. The food was delicious; tea, scones, quiche....yum yum yum.I spoke and sang and could see as I looked out, that ladies hearts were being touched, challenged and changed.

On Saturday morning, the Speaker was Gracia Burnham. For those of you who don't recognize the name, she and her husband Martin were serving with "New Tribes Ministries" in the Philippines....while they were celebrating their wedding anniversary at a resort; they were kidnapped and held captive for more than a year. They were on the run with terrorists with ties to Osama bin Laden. In the last of 15 battles with the Army who was trying to rescue them and the other hostages, her husband was killed, she was rescued and returned to her three children. What a story of God's faithfulness and provision as they trekked through the jungles. All of us that morning were so moved as this missionary poured out her heart to us. I read her book, "In the Presence of My Enemies" (I could not put it down until I finished it). Please read it, you will also be moved.

Isaiah 43:2 - When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers they shall not overflow you....

Sunday, I remained in Oklahoma City, and ministered in two services Sunday morning at an incredible church, Capital Hill Assembly. Once again, I was able to sing with a choir....I LOVE THAT! The choir is wonderful. Pastor Glenn is a great communicator and tremendous preacher. On Sunday night, what a blessing it was to be able to sing at Crossroads Assembly; at least 100 in the choir backing me up on several songs. I was amazed to see a full orchestra on Sunday night; THEY ARE GOOD! Thanks Pastor Bohannon for letting me come.

I grew up attending Camp Meetings and have always enjoyed them, so when I was asked to come to a little town in California, called Reedley, for one....I was excited! Services morning, afternoon and evening, but you don't seem to tire. You have opportunities to hear different speakers and singers and just be blessed. I was on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. God used me to speak to hearts and lives. Another bonus was I was placed in a gorgeous Bed & Breakfast, my favorite place to stay. Thank you, Lord!!

Over 20 years ago, I sang at a small storefront church in Los Angeles. Recently I was asked to return for a dedication of a Phase Two Building Family Worship Center. What a joy to see how God had blessed the church to move to a prime location. It was Women's Day, so I sang and a speaker was there from Detroit. She was Good! Pastor and Mrs. Hill, I am so thankful for what God has done in and through your lives.

I Corinthians 1:9 - God is faithful, by whom you were called unto the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Again, as you are planning your schedule for Christmas functions, I'll be happy to come and minister ............YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! I am available for Seniors Groups, Singles Groups, Church Services, and Ladies Meetings. Just call me at 909-948-2448.

I would like to thank you who pray regularly for me send offerings. When God makes you a blessing to me, I am able to bless others, as I travel and proclaim the Good News through Song. Remember The Lord rewards the "sender" and the "sent." Your gifts are processed through my account with the Assemblies of God in Springfield, Mo. You will be sent a receipt.

I have for nearly 30 years had a "Walk of Faith" and God has ALWAYS been faithful to supply the ministry needs as He promised the day of my farewell luncheon when I walked out of the telephone company.

Matthew 6: 26 - Look at the birds of the air, they don't sow, they don't reap, they don't store away in barns, yet Your Heavenly Father feeds them; and you are more valuable than the little birds.

OCTOBER

Another great gift from God, to be able to appear in concert with two southern gospel groups; Evidence Quartet (they are soooooo talented) and Golden State Quartet (also lots of talent in these guys). Because I don't normally sing southern gospel music, I love it when I am invited to appear with these groups because people get to hear what I do.

Another of my favorite things to do is drive the 101 North. You have the mountains on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other side. What a beautiful drive. You see God's creation. I had this beautiful experience as I drove to Solvang, Santa Barbara and Goleta to speak for Christian Women's Connection. Each meeting was tremendous. Many new first-time attendees. I have a new talk that has touched many hearts as I contrast Joy vs. Happiness. There really is a difference. Maybe you'll get to hear me sometime. You know, of course, that Happiness is all about Happenings, while Joy is from Jesus, a different level of emotion.

Nehemiah 6:10 - The Joy of The Lord is our strength.

Another fantastic opportunity .... CASA (California Adult Seniors Association) had a Fall Conference at Calvary Chapel Conference Center, Murrieta, Calif. What a place! Great Speakers and wonderful music. We were able to sing songs we have known since our salvation. I ministered in Song. What a blessing for me and as I heard from many that they were touched. A real special treat for the conference was a ventriloquist, Gail Wenos, with her "smart dummy, Ezra." I didn't even feel silly talking to him....it was fun.

Ms. Lillie, Gail and Ezra

The Conference, CASA, had awesome speakers, particularly The Kranings. One of his sermon titles was "You have more power than you think." He exhorted us that a little faith is all we need to accomplish what God asks of us. We closed the conference with a beautiful communion service, which we did in remembrance of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was crucified and buried, but on the third day morning, HE GOT UP! His work on Earth was done so he ascended back to The Father and will return for us. Halleujah! Those of us who know Him as Lord and Savior will spend eternity with Him. Our future will be awesome.

Revelation 21:4 - God will wipe every tear from our eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain....
