November 2007

Here we are nearly the end of 2007. Where did this year go? The ministry God has given me has been blessed this entire year and I am grateful.

Psalms 37:23 - The steps of a good man (Lillie) are ordered by The Lord and God delights in her way.

For the past five years, I have enjoyed leading a group to Branson, Missouri. If you have never visited this scenic exciting part of God's world, you probably should. There are many entertainers you have enjoyed through the years and there you can see them up close and personal , all of their shows are family oriented. It is quite refreshing not have to be reluctant to take your children in to see a show. This year, was especially exciting for me as I was able to minister at a great church on Sunday morning. As we sat for dinner after the service, I shared with the pastor what an awesome opportunity he has to minister each Sunday to at least 2,000 people who come on the tour buses and he may never see again....but the seeds are planted. Someone else may water, but God gives the increase.

Each time I visit Branson, I am able to be with my dear friends, Jim & Lori Bakker, singing on their daily television program. What a visionary....a place called "Morning Side" has been developed where one can purchase a home, condo ....living there in an awesome setting. Conferences and retreats will be "what's happening" on a regular basis. You'll love it!

The church organization I grew up in, The Church of God In Christ, celebrated it's 100th anniversary in Memphis, Tennessee. It was founded by Bishop Charles Mason. I began attending this annual convention regularly when I was 18 years old. In the beginning I attended each year, and as I began traveling full-time, I would only go every four years. It is always a wonderful time of hearing the anointed preachers....the best music. So, of course, I knew that I had to attend this Centennial. What great opportunity for me to see long-time friends share fellowship and food

As you might remember, I lived many years in San Jose, CA. I was excited to be able to go up and spend Thanksgiving with my sister. I sang at a great church on the Sunday before Thanksgivng. God was faithful to fill my mouth with words that touched, encouraged and blessed the people.

Isa. 55:15 - So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty.

For many years, I was blessed to be a part of a great church in San Jose, Cathedral of Faith, Pastor Kenny Foreman. One of the highlights of the year is their Thanksgiving Eve service. I was asked to speak and sing that Wednesday night. It was powerful! The atmosphere seemed charged with the Holy Ghost Anointing. I know hearts and lives were touched and changed.

What a spread of delicious food on Thanksgiving Day, all the things I grew up eating; turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, greens...I can't even mention all the other foods . It's all about family, being there with my sister, her two children, her four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. What a day

I learned about an organization that is instrumental in placing children from abusive homes into a better environment; it is called Child Help. What an evening in November, to be able to sing for their annual fundraising banquet and to hear success stories. I always want to be a part of their outreach.

December 2007

This joyous, wondrous season of the year is here again. I love this season. It's a time to rejoice and be thankful for God's gift to us, His only begotten son, Jesus. One extraordinary gift sent to redeem mankind. He is the reason for the season. I pray that the world will soon realize that. I personally stay away from the malls during this time of the year. I am hurt to see how commercial it all has become. Yes, I do love the sights, lights, sounds, smells, joys, traditions and wonders of the season, but again, it's Jesus's birthday we celebrate.

John 3:17 - For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

I did take a picture with Santa .

Some dear friends, of 40 years, are the pastors to the senior adults in San Jacinto, California, Ron & June Stevens. They were recently honored by the church they began in Canada....as it was their 50th year of full-time pastorate. What a blessing. I was asked to be the speaker-singer for their annual Christmas banquet. What a beautiful evening with all the festive decorations.

I encouraged them through the songs and this word;

Romans 8:32 - And because God did not spare even His own Son but delivered Him up for us all...won't He surely give us everything else we need?

I was asked to sing for a Christmas Eve service in Murrieta, California and what a great service! Candlelight communion. I shared how we as Christians can have the peace Jesus came to bring. We need only open our hearts to receive it.

John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you, and then My Peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

New Year's Eve found me at another exciting service in Palm Springs. The church was packed as we sat listening to the piano artistry of Dino and the singing of his wife, Cheryl. Now that's the way to spend the last night of the year .

As 2007 draws to a close....let's be excited about 2008 (remember the #8 means "New Beginning"). In this New Year, let's believe for miraculous healings, financial provision, and most of all, a closer walk with God. No need to feel hopeless, perplexed, confused ....sure, things will come into our lives, but God's Word says "I will never leave you nor forsake you."

Isa. 43:19 - Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall bring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

A special thanks for all the years many of you have prayed for me....supported me, it is wonderful to know that there are special friends who care about the ministry God has given me. Soon will be 30 years since I "hung up" on Ma Bell....after working 22 years at the telephone company. I was working for my retirement....but God had greater plans for me, and I'm glad He did . He has proven Himself always faithful to meet the need in my life and if you would like to be a financial blessing, all gifts are processed through my Assembly of God account in Springfield, MO, and you will receive a tax-deductible receipt. I do believe this ministry is "good ground." Thanks for your generosity and because He is no respector of person; you too can receive from Him all the things you need. His Word assures us of that.

Psalms 125:1 - Those who trust in The Lord are like Mt. Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

In the June newsletter, I shared about concerts where I sang with a talented group of singers called Daystar. They support orphanages and churches in Russia. Their leader, my dear long-time friend and great musician, Doug Moody, went to be with Jesus on Dec. 4th. He will certainly be missed, but he is now "Finally Home." We know that one day, we shall all be reunited with loved ones and will spend eternity together in the precense of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Rev. 14:13 - "Blessed are the dead who die in The Lord ..... that they may rest from their labors and their works will follow them."

Just another reminder, there is still room for you to join me on my 70th birthday cruise. You'll have a great time (click here for more info).

Until next time.

Happy to be His Handmaiden,
